Doug Alexander joined Premium Brands Holdings as Vice President and General Manager of Leadbetter Foods, later taking on the role of Vice President, Sustainability and Government Relations for Belmont Food Group.

Belmont Food Group is an operating group within Premium Brands Holdings Corporation, comprising 10 independent food processing businesses with 18 operations across Canada and the United States. Premium Brands is a leading North American specialty food manufacturing and differentiated food distribution company with 112 operating facilities and approximately 14,400 employees. With 2026 revenues of approximately $9.3 billion, Premium Brands’ businesses serve more than 22,000 customers across North America.

Doug’s experience in the food processing industry spans 40 years, including senior operational leadership roles across a range of food processing sectors.

Doug currently serves as Chair of Food and Beverage Ontario, Vice Chair of Meat and Poultry Ontario, a member of the Innovation Advisory Council of the Canadian Food Innovation Network, and a member of Conestoga College’s Research and Innovation Advisory Committee.

He recently completed 10 years on the Board of the Agricultural Adaptation Council, including serving as Chair. His previous industry leadership roles also include Chair of the Agri-Food Management Institute, Chair of Food Starter and a member of the Board of Directors of Provision Coalition.

Doug holds diplomas in Food Science and Industrial Engineering.
