Canada’s post-secondary institutions are essential partners in Food Processing Skills Canada’s (FPSC) SWPP+.

This program brings together employers, students, post-secondary institutions and organizations in the food and beverage manufacturing industry to drive systemic change in the skills development system at the post-secondary education level and align the technical, foundational and “work-ready” skills of students required by Canadian employers. Increasing access to work-integrated learning for employers and students is a proven strategy for workforce development.

FPSC’s SWPP+ team is available to support schools in sharing information with students about Canadian food and beverage manufacturing placement opportunities.
Post-secondary institutions play an important role in connecting students with the right opportunity and we can help you understand the jobs and the employer options available.

Overview of the changes to Global Adjustment, as announced by the Provincial Government on Nov. 5, 2020

File type: PDF

Starting on January 1, 2021, a portion estimated at approximately 85 per cent of these high-cost wind, solar and bioenergy contracts, entered into under the previous government, will be funded by the Province, not ratepayers. Removing these costs from electricity bills will result in medium size and larger industrial and commercial employers saving about 14 and 16 per cent respectively, on average, on their electricity bills.
