The Ontario Agri-Food Venture Centre (OAFVC), located in Colborne, Ontario approximately one hour East of Toronto, held its grand opening on May 1, 2015. Premier Kathleen Wynne; Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Jeff Leal; and Northumberland-Quinte West MPP Lou Rinaldi participated in the opening celebrations. The facility is a 15,000 square foot small-batch food processing facility. It features a fully equipped state of the art commercial kitchen capable of small batch processing, packaging and storage of foods, particularly fresh fruit and vegetables. The Centre is an important, needed addition to Ontario’s Food and Beverage Innovation assets.
