The Government of Ontario included $10 million in the 2022-23 Ontario budget for ongoing support and expansion of Enhanced Agri-Food Workplace Protection Program (EAWPP), this is in addition to over $36 million already provided through the program. This cost-sharing initiative helps farms and agri-food businesses take additional measures to guard the health and safety of agri‐food workers.
We encourage all eligible businesses interested in applying for support under the Enhanced Agri-food Workplace Protection Program to join OMAFRA ministry staff on January 13, 2023 at 11:00am ET to learn about the Enhanced Agri-food Workplace Protection Program, with new eligible applicants and a new dedicated funding stream for agri-food employers who provide their workers with congregate housing.
