Keynote - Andrew Coyne - Is Canada Ready to Feed the World?

Andrew Coyne

Andrew Coyne is national affairs columnist for Postmedia News. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the London School of Economics‎. He has written previously for Maclean’s and The Globe and Mail, contributing as well to a number of other publications in Canada and abroad, including The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, National Review, and The Walrus. He is the winner of two National Newspaper Awards and the Hyman Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism.

Mr. Wong is a faculty member and The Distinguished Professor of Marketing at Queen's School of Business, where he has held both teaching and administrative positions.  As a teacher, he has received numerous awards for his courses in strategic planning, marketing, and business strategy. His business and teaching awards include: 2015 - Kingston Business Hall of Fame; 2006 - Canadian Marketing Hall of Legends, and; 1998 - Financial Post's Leaders in Management Education award, a lifetime achievement award for his work in undergraduate, MBA, and Executive Development programs.

Susan Mah - Sue is an award-winning dietitian for Innovation and was named the 2017 Dietitian of the Year by the Dietitians of Canada Business and Industry Network.As one of Canada’s leading media dietitians and nutrition writers, Sue is a pro at decoding nutrition science into insightful business marketing advice and communication strategies for national and international food industry clients. She is a nutrition trends expert, skilled media spokesperson, engaging speaker, and consultant to health associations (including Health Canada, Dietitians of Canada, Diabetes Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation and Canadian Cancer Society) as well as dozens of top food brands.


Lucia Weiler - Lucia is a passionate nutrition communications professional who specializes in marketing, education and regulatory affairs related to food and beverages. With extensive experience in innovation and strategy development,Lucia leverages her food science and business building expertise for clients. As a Registered Dietitian and Professional Home Economist, Lucia is a pro in the development and execution of inspiring nutrition advertising and educational programs that are food forward and legally sound.

As Executive Director of Provision Coalition, an organization she founded with the country’s top food and beverage professional associations, Cher works directly with manufacturers to transform their business culture and operations. An advocate for change and a passionate spokesperson, Cher has dedicated her career to advancing sustainability concepts within the Canadian food industry and sustainability solutions at the firm level. Most recently, Cher has sharpened Provision’s focus on the reduction of food loss and waste developing innovative technologies and on-line tools that will modernize facility processing.
