As Vice President, Strategy and Industry Affairs at Gay Lea Foods, Rosemary MacLellan brings nearly 20 years of government, lobbying and industry experience to Ontario’s largest dairy co-operative and a drive to grow Canadian dairy with Gay Lea Foods’ members and industry partners.
Rosemary leads a team of industry, trade and communications specialists at Gay Lea Foods, supporting the business growth and innovative strategies while positioning Gay Lea Foods as a progressive Canadian dairy processor and industry leader that is investing to grow the markets for Canadian milk and dairy ingredients.
Rosemary joined Gay Lea Foods in April 2015, after 12 years at Dairy Farmers of Canada where she advised the Board of Directors, senior management and provincial members on government relations and lobby strategies, while serving as the liaison with federal parliamentarians and cabinet minister’s offices. She also led the communications activities strengthening dairy farmers’ voice in Ottawa with parliamentarians, government, media and other industry stakeholders.
Prior to her roles in the Canadian dairy industry, Rosemary served as an Advisor in the offices of the Solicitor General of Canada and Minister of Industry; and as a legislative aide on Parliament Hill.
